2023 Winter Frost Green Tea from Coonoor, Nilgiri
The estate making this tea runs through a steep valley ranging from 5400 to 6900 feet.
We believe the tea makers in Nilgiris have completely aced their green tea making technique, nowhere else in India, we get such exquisitely crafted greens! This year's batch is kind of different and packs a stronger punch, we're happy to share this you!
The dry leaf has a sweet aroma of saffron and fennel seeds, when placed on the heated ware, a creamy coconut milk like aroma comes to the front, transforming into something fruity in a bit. The liquor is predominantly grassy with a long fruity finish. The fruit part resembles Indian jujube and green grapes. There is a hint of fennel seed and saffron in the liquor as well, not as prominent as the aroma though. There is a grainy note as well, resembling basmati rice and that along with the saffron and coconut milk note give a subdued sweetness to the tea, best experienced after you have had a few big sips!
