Introducing the champagne of teas, the 2023 Darjeeling First Flush. It is very special tea for us, sourced after sampling almost hundreds of batches! This time, we have sourced it from the beautiful Okayti Estate. It is made from the famous AV2 cultivar and grows at 6200 feet altitude. We are very happy to offer this first flush and we have high hopes that this is join our list of bestsellers very soon!

 

As soon as you open this packet, you are greeted with a fruity aroma found only in Darjeeling tea. With notes of ripe pears and sugar fruit candies, this sets you up for the delicious experience awaiting you! When placed on the heated ware, the initial notes are of vanilla, followed by ripe pears and pink rose notes! As soon as you start pouring the tea after infusion, you are greeted with the floral notes this tea has to offer. On your first sip, you can pick out the notes of marigold, magnolia with a hint of citrus blossom. On the fruity side, the tea has notes of ripe peaches and guavas. As you further sip, you enjoy the delicious high mountain astringency, making you thirsty for more and more sips! As you are done halfway through your cup, the temperatures go down and the floral notes are even more prominent, almost perfumy in nature! There are notes of red apple and mosambi on offer too now. There's a lot more this tea has to offer, we leave that discovery to you and are sure you will agree with us at the end of your first cup!

Steeping Time : 3 minutes western style, 20 seconds gongfu style adding 5 seconds every subsequent steep
Leaf to water ratio :  0.9 gram per 100ml for western style, 3 grams per 100ml for gongfu style

Recommended Steeping Temperature : 85°C
