Another year, another malty delight from Bihar! This time, we have gone with the tippy version from autumn. We and the estate, both love the autumn harvest the most. We are happy to have sourced this beatiful small batch of golden tippy black tea from the region.
As soon as you open the pouch, you are greeted with sweet notes of jaggery and molasses, almost as sweet as jaggery itself. When placed on heated ware, you get notes of sweet gooseberry preseve. The liquor has aroma of jaggery as well. On your first sip, you know its going to be a satisfying cup, the notes of wood and malt satisfy the craving for a robust black tea. On further sips, you get notes of jaggery and oranges. The tea mostly tastes the same throughout, only increasing in sweetness as the liquor cools down. When brewed gongfu style, the tea shines with malt and jaggery notes in the first few infusions, tasting like jaggery syrup at times. Then comes the orange and finally the woody notes. We hope you experiment with brewing styles and ratios and experience the perfection which is this tea.
