Presenting our second ever green tea from Assam, the 2023 Assam Summer Green Tea. Its everything you want your summer green tea to be. Assam has been one of the more difficult regions to get green tea from, due to the primary focus being their delicious malty black tea production. But, things have changed and there are so many small farmers and entrepreneurs, enabling experimentation like never before, this is one of the fruits of that.
The dry leaf aroma is fruit forward with notes of raw mangoes, there is a fresh grass aroma too, making you realize again its a green tea. When placed on the heated ware, you get the same fresh cut grass note with a fruity finish. You can also smell some roasted corn. The liquor delivers its punchy profile from the first sip. Fresh cut grass with mango on the finish is what it starts with. As you sip more, you can taste a little bit of white flower with marigold and basil on the finish. Once you have tasted these enough and the liquor cools down, you can taste more fruity notes of custard apple.
